Don’t Turn Your Camera

Don’t turn your camera;
My peers desire I pose and perform.
Each snap fades light and dulls my sparkle.

Turn from my aching eyes,
Lest they reveal the dark truth you fear.
When you look within, anguish bleeds through.

Harsh words mar the image;
Mustn’t see life from an opposing view.
The photo remained; the boy did not.
