We grew in noxious soil and fed on dirt;
We yearned for just a moment without hurt.
Our selfishness ensured all felt abused;
Every apple fell shrivelled and bruised.
Family Poems
Big Daddy (Strangers Consumed Edit)
Invaded while strangers consumed;
Screamed when I saw his face.
Men I didn’t know entered my room;
I let them take his place.
Inheritance
You spent many years showing me contempt;
Being divorced somehow made you exempt.
Nothing I did ever made you feel proud;
Even at your end you played to the crowd.
Big Daddy
I saw the world as if viewed through your eyes;
You shone through ev’ry smile and all my lies.
With each word I uttered, I heard your voice;
No matter how hard I tried, I had no choice.
In the Dark
My blood spilled over the descending sun;
No longer could the world see what he had done.
Where the Celtic Sea kissed the golden sands,
In the dark, I wept while he bound my hands.
